Dear Friend 🌹 🎶  Making Waves this October 🎶🌹 In the face of the challenges we face as a global community, there's an increasing groundswell of people crying out and calling out injustices and inequalities.  Just one voice can make a huge difference and is amplified when we join together with others.   🌹 🎶 Huge Sing for Water Thankyou! 1:10 people around the world lack access to clean water.  Over 21 years, Sing for Water has raised £1.2million for WaterAid projects working to address this vast injustice. Thanks to the amazing power of people to pull together, Sing for Water London 2022 went ahead despite being postponed due to the National Mourning.  Roxane Smith & I are so very grateful to all the amazing Singers, our Guest Conductors Una May Olomolaiye & Tom Morley,  Founder Helen Chadwick, the teams at Thames Festival Trust and WaterAid, the Sound Crew and our friends and family who supported. Thanks also to Naveen Arles, New YVC and all the singers who couldn't attend - you were with us on the songwaves. Tickets now available! 🌹 🎶 Inspiration Corner In solidarity with Iranian protests about the death of Mahsa Amini whilst in the custody of the morality police for wearing her hijab too loosely, here's Sara Emami's beautiful image and Samin & Behin Bolouri's Persian version of Italian protest song Bella Ciao  "In the end, the chain, the worldwide oppression, breaks with our hands"  I will close out with this encouraging message from A.A.Milne “I can face the winter with calm. What are you foraging for this squirrel season? If you're looking to crack a few vocal nuts, buzzing, humming, sliding and yawning will help reawaken your voice. If it's all feeling a bit frantic, taking a few minutes to anchor into deep belly breathing with long slow hums and vowels can soothe frazzled nerves. If you're ready to take a flying leap to a new branch, a liberating shake and sound for a few minutes can reboot and refre. It never fails to amaze me how the magic of singing can meet us wherever we are - there really is a song for every season!   🌹 🎶 Back to School, Back to Choir!
